Launch Year in Review
Since opening our doors back in June, Launch has made big strides in our mission of making coding fun and available to kids everywhere. It is hard to believe how far we have come in less than a year! We wanted to take moment to reflect and acknowledge the hard work and achievement of our students and staff as 2018 comes to a close.
In the last 6 months, we’ve seen our total number of students grow from just a handful to now over 60 and counting! Being able to see each and every student not only develop their skills as coders, but also develop friendships as well, has been beyond rewarding for us.
As the number of students grew, so did our curriculum. We are proud to be offering units and camps like coding with Minecraft, mobile app development with MIT App Inventor and even Robotics in addition to our original foundational courses.
It’s not just in the classroom where we were busy! We were able to host and attend a number of great events such as free coding for kids workshops, and getting connected with the community at local school events like Pease, Barton Creek, and Bridge Point Elementary. As a startup team, these moments with families and educators are incredibly rewarding.
But perhaps some of our favorite events were our open houses, as it showed how open this community has been to accepting us and trusting us with something as important as their children’s education.
As we wrap up our first year of operation we can look forward to another great year full of growth and achievement as we continue to develop the young bright minds of tomorrow.
